Optomagnonics with magnetic textures

The field of optomagnonics marries concepts of Condensed Matter and Quantum Optics, and has many points of contact with other fields, such as spin physics with cold-atom systems, magnonics, and cavity optomechanics. A unique feature in optomagnonics is the possibility of coupling light to magnetic excitations on top of a textured ground state, where the magnetization is non-homogeneous. Vortices and skyrmions are examples of magnetic textures, and can appear due to geometry or interactions. We study by analytical and computational means the interplay between photons and magnons on top of magnetic textures.
