Girls'Day 2026
The Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (MPL) and the Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin (MPZPM) in Erlangen are each inviting 15 girls interested in science as part of Girls'Day 2026 on April 23 to offer them exciting insights into the working world of a female researcher and to awaken their passion for scientific and technical professions in which women are underrepresented.
What does the everyday work of a scientist look like? How do I become a physicist? What does a mechanic do at our institute? What do our laboratory engineers develop? What does physics have to do with medicine? And how does an IT employee support our researchers? We show how diverse the research projects are that we work on at the MPL and MPZPM. Of course, the girls also have the opportunity to ask anything that interests them and to try things out for themselves.
- MPL: Light and what can be done with it: a glimpse into everyday life as a physicist
- MPZPM: Physics and medicine: How female scientists are shaping the medicine of tomorrow
