FAU meets IMPRS @MPZPM
FAU meets IMPRS @MPZPM.
Poster Session.
On May 13th our event „FAU meets IMPRS” was organized for the first time at the Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin (MPZPM). We invited interested FAU Bachelor and Master students from the fields of Physics, Medical Engineering, Biology and Medicine to learn more about our graduate programme “IMPRS Physics and Medicine (IMPRS-PM)” and the fellowship we offer.
The “open day” on May 13th started with an introductory talk by one of our IMPRS-PM Chairs Prof. Vasily Zaburdaev who presented our Max Planck Graduate Programme IMPRS-PM. Afterwards, IMPRS-PM PhD student Konstantin Michel talked about Neural Epigenomics and how it is being researched in the Toda Lab (MPZPM, FAU), followed by Dr. Viola Introini's (MPZPM RG Leader) presentation about her Malaria research. The fourth talk was given by Prof. Dr. med. Stefan Uderhardt (UKER), presenting his research focus on integrative tissue immunology.
Following the short talks, the invited FAU students had the chance to participate in a poster session and thus learn even more about the research that is carried out within our graduate programme. Several lab tours, that were offered in parallel to the poster session, provided additional interesting insight into experiments run by the MPZPM research groups of Dr. Daniel Wehner, Prof. Kristian Franze and Dr. Jona Kayser.
Scientific exchange between FAU students and the participating IMPRS students & IMPRS friends (thanks to all of you for your talks, posters, lab tours!) took place amidst the research posters while jovially enjoying some snacks and drinks.
To all FAU students reading this - we plan to organize those open-day events regularly once a year. If you are interested, just have a look at our homepage or follow us on social media to find out when the “FAU meets IMPRS” in 2026!
