IMPRS Retreat 2026

Last week, the joint retreat of our two graduate programmes IMPRS Physics of Light and IMPRS Physics and Medicine took place at the Hotel Rappen in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

We kicked off the retreat with lightning talks, giving our PhD and master’s students the chance to present their research topics to one another.

The two days were filled with a mix of interactive sessions and networking activities designed to foster collaboration and connection across the programmes.

A city rally through Rothenburg provided students not only with a chance to explore the town's stunning medieval charm in Franconia, but also an opportunity to get to know each other better and exchange ideas about future scientific projects and opportunities.
