Let there be light
At the traditional christmas lecture of the Friedrich-Alexander-University (FAU) on December 13th, everything revolved around visible and invisible laser beams and light sources. Around 450 visitors enjoyed the two-hour demonstration.
20 scientists from the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (MPL) worked together with colleagues from the Bayerisches Laserzentrum (BLZ) and the Collegium Alexandrinum (FAU) behind the scenes and on stage on eleven different experiments.
For example, individual photons were rendered audible, particles were captured with optical tweezers and laser swords were visualized.
In case you missed the event: You can now rewatch the lecture.
