The mechanics workshop is responsible for manufacturing high-quality precision mechanical components according to drawings, sketches and instructions using a variety of machine tools like:

• Milling machines and lathes (conventional and CNC controlled)
• drilling and grinding machines
• welding machines and saws
   

The tasks include:

• Manufacturing of technical components
• Adaptation of existing or purchased components
• Advising scientists in the planning of research setups
• Assistance in setting up laboratories
• Support of the Technical Service
