Nonlinear and quantum optics in photonic crystal fibers.
Context
Through their design, photonic crystal fibers offer the possibility to tune their nonlinearity and dispersion properties, which makes these fibers a very versatile tool for all sorts of nonlinear optics. For hollow-core PCF, the fiber can be filled with various fluids. This opens new opportunities for either generating new frequencies by nonlinear effects or for analyzing properties of the filling fluid such as their chirality.
In this context, we have two post-doctoral positions fully granted through grants involving several partners across Germany (QuNET quantum optics project) or across Europe (TwistedNano, EIC Pathfinder project). The successful candidate will be integrated in the Russell’s group or/and the Joly’s group at the Max-Planck Institute for the Science of Light in Erlangen and at the University of Erlangen.
Application
Applications including cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, and statement of research interests should be submitted via e-mail as a single PDF file. Please also arrange for at least two reference letters which should be sent directly to Prof. Joly and Dr F. Tani. Application documents as well as any inquiries about the positions should be sent to Prof. Nicolas Joly (nicolas.joly@mpl.mpg.de) & Dr Francesco Tani (Francesco.tani@mpl.mpg.de).
